About Yajing Kang
Yajing Kang is a Los Angeles–based pianist, conductor, and interdisciplinary artist, currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at the University of Southern California. Her work centers on the relationship between sound, narrative, and performance, and takes shape through solo and collaborative concerts, lecture-recitals, and thematic programs. Her repertoire spans Spanish, French, and Chinese music as well as Romantic and modern piano literature, and her artistic practice is closely connected to teaching, mentorship, and public musical exchange.
In 2026, she founded En Dialogue, a music and culture series that treats music as a form of dialogue, between performers and audiences, between tradition and contemporary perspectives, and across cultures and disciplines. Through carefully curated themes, and at times in conversation with other art forms, the series explores performance not only as presentation, but as a shared cultural experience, seeking to create more spaces for encounter and response between sound, ideas, and community.
Alongside performance and project development, Kang is also active as a creator across media, with a continuing interest in the relationship between music, storytelling, and visual imagery. These experiences inform her approach to performance, education, and curatorial work, shaping a practice that moves between the stage, the classroom, and broader cultural contexts.
